About

At Aberdeen Shiatsu we teach a comprehensive Practitioner Training Course in Shiatsu. The course meets the guidelines of The Shiatsu Society, the UK’s Governing Body for Shiatsu.

The full course lasts three years. This is a long training to commit to, that’s why we split the 1st Year into two parts, the Living in Harmony course (7 weekends), followed by the Living in Harmony Completion (6 weekends). The Living in Harmony course gives you a clear insight into this Healing Art. You will learn the major meridians and points as well as the special qualities of Shiatsu touch. The Living in Harmony Completion is where we start to apply the information learned so far and deepen the practice of Shiatsu, our understanding of energy work and Chinese Medicine. The course is suitable for those wishing to become practitioners or for anyone who wants to improve their health and that of their family.

The focus of the teaching places great emphasis on the quality of touch and the energy work surrounding Shiatsu. This supports the theory and makes the practical aspects feel truly relevant.

Shiatsu is not just a treatment which is done to others. It is very much about yourself and understanding how your experience can create patterns of Health or Dis-ease.  You will receive a lot of treatments during the course which will help you to understand the depth of Shiatsu.

Growth work and self-exploration are essential parts of the training of a good Shiatsu Practitioner. Within the Training we aim to provide support and practice to help students in their Shiatsu and self development.

All teachers are long standing practitioners. We all delight in seeing the change and self-empowerment that Shiatsu brings to our clients and find this a very fulfilling career.
